This wonderful celebration of free Francophone music and song is a nod to Superfrancofête held in 1974 in Quebec. A major cultural and sporting event with 100,000 visitors from 25 countries.

During this legendary show, I watched the wolf, the fox, and the lion on the plains with Robert Charlebois, Felix Leclerc, and Gilles Vinault.

“Our desire is to recreate this fizz. We want it to be, from the first edition, a unifying, purposeful and symbolic event,” said Sylvain Barent-Bedard, President and Founder of SISMYK.

The event was initially scheduled to be presented in 2020 in Tunisia during the Francophonie Summit, then postponed to 2022 for the World Expo in Dubai. COVID-19 decided otherwise.

“We wondered what would be the nicest place to have this event and realized it was in Old Quebec that we wanted to see,” said Jean-Francois Blais, director and director.

On radio and television

SuperFrancoFête will be broadcast live on Cogeco network radio stations and will subsequently be presented, in various formats, on TVA, TV5 Québec-Canada and TV5 Monde. Talks are also underway with major broadcasters in French-speaking countries. A budget of three million has been put in place, with various partners, to build this event.

The scripts will be read by Kim Thúy and Maka Kotto, and Fred Pellerin will be there by video. There will also be dancers from Quebec’s DM Nation. About twenty musicians and singers under the direction of Scott Price will be on the boards.

“Thirty artists from all over the world will come to stand up for what you have been championing in Quebec so well for so long, namely a song in French. We are so happy to come together, for the music, for the party, for the joy and in this city that I especially love,” Patrick Bruel launched in a message video.

Louis-Jean Cormier will rely on his repertoire and will also perform great songs in Quebec. “I am very happy to participate in this wonderful Franco-Fête with so many famous artists. Those who know me know how much the French language is tattooed on my heart,” he said during a video intervention.

SuperFrancoFête is an event that will return every year.

Francophone is vast. “It’s a show that will be here for a long time,” said Jean-Francois Blaise.

The raffle will determine who will receive 5,000 tickets available. You can register on the website
